If you hang out with the wrong crowd, you increase your chances of being approached by officers in pursuit of those suspected of, or associated with, criminal activities. If confronted by a law enforcement agent, approach the situation as you would a friend who made a mistake, and not an enemy who intended to cause you harm.

Police officers are trained to place a great deal of emphasis on their safety and survival. In some instances the safety procedures used by officers have the appearance of offensive posture or aggressive/unnecessary behavior by the average citizen. However, police officers know that even the most routine stop for a traffic violation has the potential for danger.
